The ASUS Eee Top 15.6 inch Touchscreen PC, or more officially known as EeeTop PC ET1602C, is the smallest among ASUS’ line of all-in-one desktops. Being an All-In-One computer, the screen is integrated with the CPU casing, all in one unit.
With a net weight of 4.3 kg, it is not what you might exactly call light. However, compared to a regular desktop which has a monitor, CPU casing, plus the wire connecting them, the ASUS Eee Top 15.6 inch Touchscreen PC is more compact. That means, it is easy to move around your house.
The 15.6 inch 16:9 Wide Panel display is a touch screen, so you can use the applications on the computer through finger strokes direct on the screen. The icons, apps and overall user interface are designed for touching, i.e., they’re mostly bigger. Although the unit comes with a real keyboard, you can also use the virtual keyboard that can be launched and can be interacted with through the screen itself.
The computer’s wireless connectivity supports 802.11 b, g, and n Wi-Fi standards. However, there’s also a 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN port for wired networks. So you have multiple options to connect to the Web.
Powered by an Intel Atom N270 CPU plus a 945 GSE chipset and a 1GB DDR II RAM, you can enjoy multimedia entertainment (audio and video) through the 16:9 widescreen and a couple of 4W High-fidelity speakers with SRS Premium Sound System. There are 3 audio ports that support 5.1 channel.
Multimedia files can either be stored in and retrieved from the 160 GB hard drive or you can view them directly through streaming over the Internet. You can also perform video conferences through the built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam.
The ASUS Eee Top 15.6 inch Touchscreen PC has 4 USB 2.0 slots for connecting peripherals, handheld devices or your portable storage devices. You can find all four at the back, with the three bunched up at the left (when facing the back).
